After collecting four medals at this year’s Pan American Track Cycling Championships, Higgins began her quest for the Stars-and-Stripes tonight at the first National Championship Omnium at the ADT Velodrome in Carson CA, winning what is to be the first of eight events she will contest at these national championships. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 - Boulder's Cari Higgins continued her Pan American Cycling Championships on Tuesday with a second place finish at the CERA Velodrome in Mexico City.
Higgins won the silver medal in the women's scratch race track cycling event. Current scratch race World Champion Yumari Gonzalez of Cuba narrowly won the gold in a close finish. Read More...
Boulder's Cari Higgins (PROMAN Hit Squad Cycling Team) started off her Pan American Cycling Championships with a third place finish on Sunday representing the US National Team. Higgins won the bronze medal in the women's 500 meter track cycling event (35.42 sec) behind winner, former World Champion, Lisandra Guerra of Cuba and silver medalist, Diana Garcia of Columbia.
