Proman’s Higgins Starts off Pan Am Cycling Championships with Bronze Medal

July 26, 2009 - Mexico City, Mexico- Boulder's Cari Higgins (PROMAN Hit Squad Cycling Team) started off her Pan American Cycling Championships with a third place finish on Sunday representing the US National Team. Higgins won the bronze medal in the women's 500 meter track cycling event (35.42 sec) behind winner, former World Champion, Lisandra Guerra of Cuba and silver medalist, Diana Garcia of Columbia. This is the first medal for the USA at the Championships.

I went over to Hasselt last February with USA Cycling’s development program and did some Madison racing,” explained the 19-year-old Silva. “The competition over there is a lot better, so it really prepared me for this race. Julian (Kyer), Cody and myself are headed back over in a few weeks as well. Madison racing has a lot going on and is very exciting so it’s one of my favorite events on either the road or the track....Thanks
