Tuesday, July 28, 2009 - Boulder's Cari Higgins continued her Pan American Cycling Championships on Tuesday with a second place finish at the CERA Velodrome in Mexico City.

Higgins won the silver medal in the women's scratch race track cycling event. Current scratch race World Champion Yumari Gonzalez of Cuba narrowly won the gold in a close finish.

Higgins' silver was her second medal representing Team USA at the championships. Earlier in the day, she advanced through the first two rounds of the women's sprint that will be continued tomorrow.
