JUNE 28, 2010 - The Candian contingent of the Webcor team, Erinne and Joelle, raced their national championship road race yesterday. It was a great day for the team - for the 3rd time, Erinne helped a Webcor teammate win the coveted Maple Leaf jersey!

JUNE 27, 2010 - Sunday was a busy day with Webcor riders competing in their national championships in 3 different countries! Andrea had the longest trip - all the way to Austria. It was a worthwhile one though as she came through with the big victory!

JUNE 27, 2010 - Marc de MaarCuracao, Netherlands Antilles – Newly-minted Netherlands Antilles citizen Marc de Maar of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis is now the newly minted road and time trial national champion of the island nation in the southern Caribbean Sea.

UnitedHealthcare followed up yesterday’s win at the Downer Classic in Milwaukee by delivering Karl Menzies to the win this evening at the Carl Zach Cycling Classic in Waukesha, the final stage of the Tour of America’s Dairyland. Menzies was part of a break that got off the front shortly after the start of the race. When Clarke bridged up to the group with Tour leader James Stemper (Kenda), it secured the success of the break.

JUNE 26, 2010 - Milwaukee, WI – The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis train was only four-deep at the Downer Classic in Milwaukee Saturday evening, but the outcome was the same as it was 10 days ago in the second stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix: Hilton Clarke and Karl Menzies took the top two spots.

JUNE 25, 2010 - Bend, OR - The American contingent of the Webcor Cycling team is here in beautiful Bend, OR for the national championships. Yesterday was the time trial. Amber showed she is well on her way back to peak form after her injury by placing a strong 2nd place behind Evelyn Stevens of Columbia HTC. Mara Abbott was 3rd.

JUNE 21, 2010 - Nevada City, CA – Megan Guarnier of Team TIBCO/To the Top took 2nd place at the Nevada City Classic, a day after she wrapped up the overall omnium title of the Tour de Nez after taking 2nd in the third stage at Northstar at Tahoe.
In Nevada City, Guarnier noted, “the course kind of takes care of itself. There’s normally no need to attack to thin the field.”

JUNE 20, 2010 - In the final stage of the Grand Cycliste de Beauce, UnitedHealthcare threw everything they had at the Fly V Australia team of race leader Ben Day in an effort to dislodge him & move Marc de Maar & Morgan Schmitt up in the overall standings.
When a dangerous 9-rider break including SpiderTech’s Ryan Roth, the best placed rider on GC, it posed two choices for the Team.

JUNE 20, 2010 - Stillwater, MN–Team TIBCO/To the Top won the overall team competition after a hard Stillwater Criterium, the final stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix.
“It was a gallant effort by all the girls,” said team directeur sportif Emma Rickards. The goal coming into the stage was to throw everything at race leader Linda Villumson (HTC-Columbia)–and everyone else in contention – in an effort to move Ruth Corset up from 3rd overall.

JUNE 18, 2010 - Clarke wins in Minneapolis - Minneapolis, MN – Hilton Clarke of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis won the bunch sprint of the Uptown Minneapolis Criterium Friday evening. It was his second consecutive stage win at the Nature Valley Grand Prix, which saw yesterday’s third stage canceled due to tornado warnings.

JUNE 19, 2010 - Quebec City, Que – Marc de Maar of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis proved again today that he is one of the strongest riders contesting this Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce by taking a convincing victory in the 5th stage of the race, a 139 km circuit race in Quebec City that served as a dress rehearsal for the Grande Prix Cycliste de Quebec Pro Tour race in September.

JUNE 19, 2010 - Menomonie, WI – Brooke Miller of Team TIBCO/To the Top took 1st in the bunch sprint to earn 3rd place on the fifth stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix Saturday. Erinne Willock (Webcor Builders) and Linda Villumsen (HTC-Columbia) had escaped the front group late in the hilly, 77-mile race to contest the stage honors. Willock took the win, but Villumsen got the bigger prize, taking the overall lead from Shelly Evans (Peanut Butter & Co.)...

JUNE 17, 2010 - Marc de MaarMont Megantic, Que – Marc de Maar of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis said his legs hadn’t felt too good the first couple days of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce. Apparently, they got better in a hurry, as the Dutch rider won today's stage atop Mont Megantic solo and took over the race lead.

JUNE 16, 2010 - Andrew PinfoldThetford Mines, Que – Andrew Pinfold of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis took 3rd in the second stage of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce, moving him up to 3rd overall and giving him the white jersey of the leader of the points competition.
“This was probably the only true sprinter’s stage of the race,” said Team Directeur Sportif Gord Fraser. “We wanted to give Pinner a good shot at the stage win.”

JUNE 16, 2010 - Rory SutherlandSt. Paul, MN – Rory Sutherland of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis finished 2nd in the opening 6.1 km time trial of the Nature Valley Grand Prix this morning. Sutherland comes into the race as the two-time defending champion, and he now sits 0:10 behind stage winner Scott Swizanski (Kelly Benefits) in 2nd place after posting a time of 13:04, and 0:06 ahead of Swizanski’s teammate Zach Bell in 3rd.

JUNE 16, 2010 - Paul, St. Paul, MN – Hilton Clarke and Karl Menzies of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis took the top two spots in the Downtown St. Paul Criterium Wednesday evening, the second stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix.

JUNE 16, 2010 - St. Paul, MN – Alison Starnes of Team TIBCO/To the Top showed that her form is on the ascent ahead of the U.S. National Championships next week by taking her first ever NRC win in the opening time trial of the Nature Valley Grand Prix this morning.
Starnes powered over the 6.1 km course, the last 800 meters of which climbs Ohio Street, in 14:38, 0:04 and 0:07 ahead of HTC-Columbia teammates Linda Villumson and Evelyn Stevens, respectively.

JUNE 16, 2010 - The final stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix is the Stillwater Criterium, which is really more of a hilly circuit race than a crit! Erinne started the day only 0.06 sec. behind Ruth Corset in 4th place. There were no time bonuses at the finish, so to move onto the GC podium, she had to gap Ruth in the finish by at least 1 sec.

JUNE 15, 2010 - Andrew PinfoldBellechasse, Que – Andrew Pinfold of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis took 4th in the opening stage of the Grand Prix Cycliste de Beauce at the end of an aggressive and hectic 165 kms.
As Team Directeur Sportif Gord Fraser noted, Beauce is known for its numerous climbs and notoriously bad road surfaces, and the first stage offered up plenty of both.

JUNE 13, 2010 - Joelle Numainville (Webcor Builders) won the first edition of the Grand Prix Gatineau on Sunday in a crash-filled sprint. Numainville avoided the crash in the final 500 metres and held off late efforts by Jo Kiesanowski (TIBCO) and Modesta Vzesniauskaite (Colavita Baci) to win the UCI 1.1 race in her home province.

JUNE 13, 2010 - The Air Force Cycling Classic weekend wouldn’t have ended any better for the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis. Really. The Team swept the podium of the Crystal City Cup today, as Jake Keough led the charge to the line just ahead of teammates Karl Menzies and Hilton Clarke. The win completed the sweep begun yesterday with Clarke’s win of the Clarendon Cup.

JUNE 12, 2010 - Brooke Miller of Team TIBCO/To the Top took a strong sprint victory at the Clarendon Cup Saturday. Miller out-sprinted veteran Laura Van Gilder (Mellow Mushroom) & Erica Allar (Team Vera Bradley) for the win at the end of the 50-lap, 50 km race.
But Miller said, “today was the Emma Mackie show. Emma raced phenomenally. We came into today trying to be patient & not attack a lot, but cover moves. Emma must have covered at least half the moves...

JUNE 12, 2010 - Talk about a good first impression. In his first race with the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis, Hilton Clarke paid back his new teammates for their hard work by winning the Air Force Cycling Classic Clarendon Cup Saturday.
Clarke and teammate Brad White were part of a six-rider break that took leave of the front of the peloton 40 laps into the 100-lap, 100 km criterium in the Clarendon section of Arlington, Virginia.

JUNE 7, 2010 - The Liberty Classic is the biggest 1-day race for women in the US... Webcor had a smaller, but nonetheless strong team of 5 riders. Joelle finished a strong 6th place out of a select group of 22 riders at the finish containing some of the world's best sprinters... The rest of the ream rode aggressively & Erinne made the only real break of the day, being off the front by up to about 1 minute for most of the 3rd lap.

JUNE 6, 2010 - Hood River, OR – Marc de Maar and the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis did what they needed to do today to close out the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic with the yellow jersey still adorning the Dutchman.
The technical 1 km criterium course, which featured a pair of hard turns at the base of descents was made more dangerous by steady rain.

JUNE 6, 2010 - Tulsa, OK – Amanda Miller of Team TIBCO/To the Top has been putting the fine form she gained racing the Tour de l’Aude last month to good use since her return. Last weekend, she rode away from the pack on lap one of the challenging Snake Alley Criterium for the solo win. This weekend, she headed to Tulsa with five teammates to tackle the three-day Tulsa Tough.

JUNE 6, 2010-Philadelphia, PA–The six rider squad from Team TIBCO/To the Top rode aggressively from the start of the 93 km Liberty Classic, with Australian National Champion Ruth Corset one of the early agitators. Corset attacked on the first lap and began securing Queen of the Mountain points the first time up the Manayunk Wall and Lemon Hill, en route to securing the QoM competition. In fact, Corset took top points on seven of the eight QoM hot spots out on course.

JUNE 2, 2010 - Oakland, CA – Brad White and Matt Crane of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis will join participants in the Ride2Recovery Memorial Challenge, which is sponsored by UnitedHealthcare, this Friday, June 4.
The seven-day Ride2Recovery, which began on Memorial Day in Washington, D.C. and ends Sunday, June 6, in Virginia Beach, works to improve the health and wellness of injured veterans through cycling.

“Why do things just fall apart when race day comes?” This is the big question that all athletes ask themselves all too often. My thought patterns may appear to oversimplify things at times, but it seems to gain an attainable perspective when things get a little overwhelming, complicated and downright out of control. Hmmm…sounds a lot like race day so I guess this approach is worth a try.
