The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis put the MERCO races in Merced this weekend to good use en route to 4th and 5th places in the criterium & road race respectively. “It was a good chance for the new guys & the veterans to start working together under race conditions,” said team Directeur Sportif Mike Tamayo. “And while we go into every race with the intention of winning, we also wanted to treat this weekend’s races as sort of like a pre-season game in football." The 2010 season got off to a strong start for Team TIBCO. Ten riders went straight from its training camp near Santa Barbara to Merced, CA to open its season with the Snelling Road Race and Merced Criterium this weekend. They came away with two wins, as well as two more podiums.
Rebecca Much opened the weekend with a strong win in Snelling, leading a Team TIBCO charge that saw the team take four of the top five places, with Devon Haskell finishing 3rd. Read More...
The UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Presented by Maxxis wrapped up its official kick-off to the 2010 campaign Sunday following a week of training and team building in Tucson, Arizona, and a weekend gathering with sponsors, VIPs and special guests in Fountain Hills, outside of Phoenix. “We had a great week of training up in Tucson,” said team director Mike Tamayo. “Everyone meshed together really well, and we have a lot of strong guys who we expect to work very well together.” Read More...
The United Healthcare presented by Maxxis team is confident it will receive an invitation to the most prestigious stage race in the U.S. The 5th annual Tour of California is set to take begin on May 16 in Nevada City and conclude on May 23 in Agoura Hills just outside of Los Angeles.

Pescadero, California – With its new status as a UCI-registered women’s cycling team, Team TIBCO/To the Top has added several top-performing international riders as well as a number of younger, up-and-coming riders, to an experienced returning core that includes 2009 U.S. National Road Champion Meredith Miller and 2008 Road and Criterium National Champion Brooke Miller. Jan. 17, 2010 - A cool, but welcoming morning was upon us at our UCI-famed Hansen Dam Park in Los Angeles this final day of the season filled with lots of fun racing with our core cross crowd -- new SoCal High School MTB League and snappy BMX 10-14 and younger nationally ranked kids coming all the way from San Diego to celebrate the finale of the season. The final race of the Cyclocross season for me was this Sunday at Fort Ord. Some would consider the weather we are now having "real" Cyclocross conditions! For those of us here in CA, it was the first real mud of the season. Being near the ocean, Fort Ord is typically very sandy. Even their mud is sandy, which is very different from the sticky, clay mud we have here. Cyclocross racers have many different categories for mud! Read More...
Sunday was the final of the Surf City Cyclocross Series in Aptos, CA. We all had a 3 week break from racing over the holidays and while I took advantage of some time off work to do some riding, I had not done anything close to race intensity since the last race! The CX season is definitely winding down and fields are getting smaller - I think the only people still racing in the US are those here in CA and those going to Worlds at the end of January! ... Ballarat, Victoria, Australia – New Team TIBCO rider Ruth Corset has won the Australian National Road Race Championship. On a day that saw temperatures reach 34ºC (93ºF), Corset put in a well-timed counterattack of a move by new teammate Emma Mackie on the second to last lap to bridge up to the duo of Judith Arndt and Rachel Neylan.
